SRI'S PRACTITIONER PROGRAM  is a substantive training in the wisdom and practice of Sowa Rigpa. Students complete a Foundations Year of Sowa Rigpa (as part of a blended cohort of Practitioner and Counselor students) and then for Years 2 , 3, and 4 of the Practitioner program, experience the  teaching of Dr. Nida Chenagtsang as well as select guest teachers from the international community of Amchi, Menpa, and Sowa Rigpa practitioners sharing their expertise on topics of special focus and interest.

*students who have already completed the Foundations Year in the now-discontinued self-paced recordings format should email info@sowarigpainstitute.org and/or make an office hours appointment at https://purelandfarms.as.me/applicantinterview to discuss your integration into the cohort!

SRI's curriculum has core equivalencies with Sorig Khang International's diploma modules, and students with previous study at SKI and/or at other institutions are  also welcome to integrate into our program, with the potential for recognition given for previous study and accomplishment. Email and/or make an office hours appointment as described above.

Lastly,  graduates of the Self Care course who find they wish to deepen their studies and train professionally, will also be eligible to enroll in and complete a self-paced Foundations 2 and 3 module in order to subsequently integrate into our Practitioner program.

Students  receive a hybrid of prerecorded self-paced material and live online (synchronous) participatory interactive discussion. Students must  also complete a minimum of 2 in-person 7-day intensives over the course of the 4-year training (topics: diagnosis, medicine-making, and external therapies) as well as a clinical internship component specifically in Year 4. (Onsite locations to be determined--efforts will be made to accommodate students' home regions.)

Students watch approximately 6 hours of pre-recorded videos per week on their own time and meet once a week with teacher on Zoom for 90 minutes.

Courses are arranged on a trimester schedule with breaks in December/January, April and August.

Live (online) sessions take place on Saturdays at:
7am Los Angeles | 10am New York | 4pm Rome

First live online session: Saturday September 17th

$3000/ year for online courses (scholarship program by application).

Tuition fees, travel, and lodging for intensives are additional expenses and not included in the annual tuition fees for online courses.

A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the program, demonstrating that Sowa Rigpa Institute affirms the student's competence to practice Sowa Rigpa  in a professional capacity (local jurisdictions may regulate the practice of some aspects such as external therapies; Sowa Rigpa is not regulated, licensed or legally recognized in most parts of the world as of this writing).

SRI offers several certificate programs as shown in this infographic:
