Sowa Rigpa Practitioner Program
Four Years | 800+ Hours
ABOUT THE TRAINING:
SRI'S PRACTITIONER PROGRAM is a substantive training in the wisdom and practice of Sowa Rigpa based on the Gyud Zhi རྒྱུད་བཞི། (Four Medical Tantras). Students complete a Foundations Year of Sowa Rigpa (as part of a blended cohort of Practitioner and Counselor students) and then for Years 2 , 3, and 4 of the Practitioner program, experience the teaching of Dr. Nida Chenagtsang as well as select guest teachers from the international community of Amchi, Menpa, and Sowa Rigpa practitioners sharing their expertise on topics of special focus and interest.
SRI's curriculum has core equivalencies with Sorig Khang International's diploma modules, and students with previous study at SKI and/or at other institutions are welcome to integrate into our program, with the potential for recognition given for previous study and accomplishment (inquire at [email protected] for more information)
FORMAT:
Students receive a hybrid of prerecorded self-paced material and live online (synchronous) participatory interactive discussion (approximately 200 hours/ year). Students must also complete a minimum of 2 in-person 7-day intensives over the course of the 4-year training (topics: diagnosis, medicine-making, and external therapies) as well as a clinical internship component specifically in Year 4.
YEAR ONE (FOUNDATIONS OF SOWA RIGPA) SCHEDULE:
Students watch 4 - 6 hours of pre-recorded videos per week and meet once a week with teacher on Zoom for 90 minutes.
Live sessions take place on Saturdays at:
7am Los Angeles | 10am New York | 4pm Rome

$3000/ year for online courses (scholarship program by application).
Tuition fees, travel, and lodging for intensives are additional expenses and not included in the annual tuition fees for online courses.
CERTIFICATE:
A certificate is awarded upon successful completion of the program, demonstrating that Sowa Rigpa Institute affirms the student's competence to practice Sowa Rigpa in a professional capacity (local jurisdictions may regulate the practice of some aspects such as external therapies; Sowa Rigpa is not regulated, licensed or legally recognized in most parts of the world as of this writing).
